From the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal to the magnificent forts, palaces and golden landscapes of Rajasthan, this 14-day journey combines India’s Mughal heritage, Rajput history, desert experiences and the lakeside charm of Udaipur.
Arrive in Delhi by flight, where you will be met and assisted at the airport before transferring to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day visit to Old and New Delhi. Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, before driving past the Red Fort and visiting Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the lanes of Chandni Chowk market and experience the atmosphere of a traditional oriental bazaar.
Continue to New Delhi to visit Qutab Minar and the iron pillar, followed by Humayun’s Tomb. Drive past India Gate, the President’s residence, Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings.
Optional Activity: Enjoy the Salam Balak Walk, a guided tour around New Delhi Railway Station and the Paharganj area, offering an insight into the personal stories of former street children and the work of SBT.
After breakfast, leave Delhi and drive to Agra, approximately 205 km / 4 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel before visiting Agra Fort, containing halls of private and public audiences and other palaces. Later enjoy a sunset visit to the world-famous Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal. (Closed on Fridays.)
Leave Agra for Jaipur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route. Explore this remarkably preserved former Mughal city, including Jama Masjid, the tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal Palace and other historic palaces.
After sightseeing, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to Jaipur and checking in at the hotel. Optional Activity: Enjoy a cooking demonstration followed by dinner at Ikaki Niwas.
Morning excursion to Amber Fort, a classic and romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. Explore its richly decorated interiors, including Jag Mandir and the famed Sheesh Mahal. En route, enjoy a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, before taking an exclusive Jeep ride to the Fort entrance.
Later visit the Maharaja’s City Palace, the former royal residence, followed by Jantar Mantar, the impressive stone and marble-crafted observatory.

After breakfast, leave Jaipur and drive to Bikaner, approximately 330 km / 6 hours. Discover this beautiful city of Rajasthan, visit the famous camel breeding farm and explore Junagarh Fort. Later enjoy a tuk-tuk ride through Bikaner’s local market and see the beautiful frescoes of an old Jain temple.
After breakfast, leave Bikaner and drive to Jaisalmer, approximately 335 km / 6 hours. One of Rajasthan’s most exotic towns, Jaisalmer lies deep in the heart of the Thar Desert. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to walk through the streets and admire magnificent houses with facades carved from yellow sandstone and painted murals.
Explore Jaisalmer, built in burnished sandstone and filled with intricately crafted architecture. Visit the Citadel, the Jain temples and Patwon Ki Haveli, as well as Salim Singh and Nathmalji Ki Haveli.
Evening excursion to Sam Sand Dunes to witness the spectacular view of the sun setting over the desert, followed by a brief camel ride at the dunes.
After breakfast, leave Jaisalmer and drive to Jodhpur, approximately 286 km / 5½ hours. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Later enjoy an evening walking tour near the Clock Tower in Jodhpur city.
Visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, rising 393 feet above the surrounding plains, and explore the old city’s maze of lanes, palaces, havelis and temples. Discover the fort’s palaces, Rajput miniature paintings, armoury and historic ramparts.
Visit Sardar Bazaar with its historic Clock Tower before seeing Jaswant Thada, the striking white-marble cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.
After breakfast, leave Jodhpur and travel to Udaipur via Ranakpur. Visit the exceptionally beautiful Ranakpur complex, one of the largest and most important Jain temples in India, located in a remote valley of the Aravalli range. Continue to Udaipur and check in at the hotel.
After breakfast, proceed for a city tour visiting City Palace, built in 1725, with its ornately decorated interiors. Continue to Jagdish Temple, built in 1651 and dedicated to Lord Vishnu, followed by Sahelion Ki Bari, the Garden of the Maidens.
Enjoy a drive around beautiful Fatehsagar Lake before ending the day with a shared boat ride on Lake Pichola. (Water level is subject to weather conditions.)
