Itinerary

We at Perfect Holidays help unfold the mysteries of Rajasthan as we take you through deserts and mountains, small reclusive hamlets and bewilderingly enormous palaces, dyed fabrics and scintillating embroidery, vibrant colours and music, traditional dance and local cuisine — all of which together weave an unforgettable tapestry.

Ranthambore, surrounded by the Vindhyas and Aravallis, is a treat for adventure enthusiasts as well as those fascinated by history. The region is home to Ranthambore National Park — the most renowned national park in northern India — and the historic Ranthambore Fort, recently included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites, making it one of the highlights of this journey.

DAY 01
ARRIVAL IN DELHI
We welcome you to the capital city of India for a journey across the fascinating history markers of medieval North India. Wars were fought and rulers changed in Delhi, yet ordinary lives continued in relative continuity. Glimpses of this rich past can still be seen today, even as the city has undergone massive changes in recent decades.

In a land believed to have witnessed seven historic cities, signs of the old continuously jostle with the new, presenting an ever-fascinating panorama. We welcome you into its chaos and stability, its steadfastness and impatience, and into a delightful rainbow of cultures that together create a world entirely its own.

Arrive at Delhi Airport by flight, where you will be met and assisted before being transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 02
DELHI SIGHTSEEING (OLD & NEW DELHI)
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day visit to Old and New Delhi.

Old Delhi:
Visit Old Delhi, the former imperial capital of the Mughal Emperors. Although little remains of the original grandeur of Shah Jahan’s city, its vibrant soul lives on. The backbone of Old Delhi is Chandni Chowk, now a bustling market selling an extraordinary variety of items including silver jewellery, aromatic spices, leather goods, fruits and vegetables.

Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the narrow by-lanes of Chandni Chowk, followed by a visit to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. Built between 1644 and 1658, this architectural masterpiece features three great gateways, four angle towers and two minarets rising 40 metres high, constructed from alternating strips of red sandstone and white marble. Drive past the Red Fort.

Raj Ghat:
Later, drive to Raj Ghat, the simple black marble memorial marking the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi following his assassination in 1948. The surrounding park features trees planted by notable personalities such as Queen Elizabeth II, President Eisenhower and Ho Chi Minh.

Visit Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, an important Sikh temple complex that includes a kitchen, holy pond, school and art gallery. The concept of langar (free community kitchen) is practised here, serving around 10,000 meals daily. Observe people of all castes, religions and ages dining together in a spirit of equality.

In the afternoon, explore New Delhi, visiting Humayun’s Tomb (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the earliest example of Mughal architecture in India. Recently restored, the monument’s gardens and fountains enhance its beauty. Architecturally inspired by styles from Samarkand, this tomb later influenced the design of the Taj Mahal.

Drive past India Gate, the President’s Residence (formerly the Viceroy’s Palace), Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings — a striking blend of Victorian and 20th-century architecture.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 03
DELHI TO AGRA
After breakfast, depart Delhi and drive to Agra (200 km / approx. 4 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your hotel.

Later, visit Agra Fort, which houses halls of private and public audiences along with royal palaces. Shah Jahan spent years confined here by his son Aurangzeb, gazing at the Taj Mahal from the fort.

Proceed to visit the world-famous Taj Mahal, built by Shah Jahan in 1560 in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. This perfectly proportioned white marble masterpiece involved over 20,000 craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and took 17 years to complete.
(Closed on Fridays)

Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 04
AGRA – SAWAI MADHOPUR (TRAIN JOURNEY)
After breakfast, depart Agra and drive to Bharatpur (60 km / approx. 2 hours) to board the train to Sawai Madhopur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route.

Located 40 km from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 in honour of Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti, who prophesied the birth of Akbar’s sons. Although it served as the Mughal capital for 14 years, the city was later abandoned due to water scarcity. Explore the beautifully preserved structures including Jama Masjid, the Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other palaces reflecting Mughal grandeur.

Transfer to Bharatpur Railway Station (20 km / approx. 30 minutes) to board the train to Sawai Madhopur.

Train Details:
Bharatpur – Sawai Madhopur
12060 Kota Jan Shatabdi Express | 14:45 – 17:02 hrs

(Luggage will travel separately by vehicle and will be delivered to the hotel by approximately 21:30 hrs.)

On arrival, meet and assist at Sawai Madhopur Railway Station and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 05
RANTHAMBORE
Early morning and afternoon visits to Ranthambore National Park by shared jeep safari.

This renowned wildlife reserve is one of the best places in Rajasthan to spot wild tigers. Spread over 1,334 sq km of forest and rocky terrain, sightings depend partly on luck, but multiple safaris increase the chances. Apart from tigers, the park is home to diverse wildlife and over 300 bird species.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 06
RANTHAMBORE TO JAIPUR
Early morning shared jeep safari in the wildlife sanctuary. Return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur (166 km / approx. 4 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 07
JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Amber Fort, a classic and romantic Rajasthani fort palace. While the exterior appears rugged, the interior reveals stunning courtyards, halls and mirror work. Enjoy a jeep ride up to the fort entrance.

Inside, visit Jag Mandir (Hall of Victory) and the famed Sheesh Mahal, where walls and ceilings are decorated with glittering mirror pieces imported from Belgium. En route, enjoy a photo stop at Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).

In the afternoon, visit City Palace, the former royal residence, part of which remains occupied by the royal family. Explore the museum, including the Armoury Museum displaying an impressive collection of historic weapons.

Later, visit Jantar Mantar, the world’s largest stone and marble astronomical observatory, featuring 17 working instruments.

Optional Evening Activity (at extra cost):
Cooking demonstration followed by dinner with an Indian family
Supplement: INR 4,060 per person

Participate in local customs, festive rituals, turban tying for men and ceremonial scarves for women, offering a warm cultural exchange.
