DAY 2
Delhi

Following breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a tour of Old and New Delhi.

Shah Jahan founded the city of Shahjahanabad, now referred to as Old Delhi, in 1648. The famous Red Fort in the heart of Old Delhi was once the most opulent fort of the Mughal Empire and it boasts the Diwan-i-Am, Hall of Public Audience, and the Diwan-i-Khas, Hall of Private Audience. Opposite the Fort is the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world, built by Shah Jahan to dominate his city. Your tour will include drive past Red Fort & visit to the Jama Masjid Mosque.

Take a cycle rickshaw ride through the back streets of Old Delhi to get a firsthand experience of the hustle and bustle of the ancient city. Also visit Raj Ghat which is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi, marking the spot where he was cremated following his assassination in 1948. It is a popular pilgrimage site for Gandhi followers and is considered one of the most significant memorials in India. The site is enveloped by lush gardens, creating a tranquil and serene atmosphere that reflects Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence and reverence for nature. Raj Ghat is a place of solace and contemplation, where visitors can pay their respects to the iconic leader and reflect on his teachings.

Later proceed to New Delhi, and visit India Gate - War Memorial Arch, drive past the Rashtrapati Bhawan – the President’s Residence, the Parliament House – the Government headquarters and other Government buildings located in the heart of New Delhi.

From here you will drive to Humayun’s Tomb - the second Mughal emperor’s mausoleum or the blue print of the Taj Mahal. It is one of the best Mughal buildings in India and an introduction to the Mughal architecture.

Before we conclude the day, visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you will have an opportunity to see the holy shrine of Sikhs. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is blessed by the eighth Guru of Sikhs – Guru Harkrishan Sahibji.
