Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Bangalore International Airport
Welcome to Bangalore! The city has an interesting history attached to it. It was ruled by Sultans, Mughals, Marathas and British for a long time before India got independence in the year 1947. Under British rule from 1831 to 1881, Bangalore started developing into a city with all the contemporary facilities. Post-independence, Bangalore became the capital of Karnataka. As soon as you land at the airport, After you complete your check-in formalities, relax for the day and take off your travel stress. If you wish to, in the evening, you can stroll around the Hotel in Bangalore.

Day 2: Bangalore Sightseeing & City Tour
Morning visit the Bangalore Palace ,after lunch depart Visit the Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, one of the popular attractions in Bangalore. Tipu Sultan was one of the greatest warriors of his time and a great ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is a testament to his battle against Britishers during the 18th century. Built in the year 1791, the palace once use to be the summer residence of the Sultan. The palace is famous for its teakwood carvings and magnificent Indo-Islamic architecture. Later, you can explore the handicraft workshops and if time permits, participate in the sandalwood craft, wood carvings and Mysore paintings for the overnight stay
 
Day 3: Bangalore to Mysore
On day 3, you will drive from Bangalore to Mysore - the “City of Palaces”.  It’s a short 3 hour drive to Mysore. The city captivates tourists with its vibrant blend of royal heritage, grand architecture, and rich cultural traditions. On reaching Mysore, you will check in at Gitanjali Homestay. It is a serene family-run homestay nestled in a quiet part of Mysore. It offers a unique experience of waking up amidst lush farm greenery, with the privacy and comfort of a boutique stay. Nestling at the foot of the Chamundi hills, the property offers sweeping views of the hillside and organic fruit gardens. Enjoy warm hospitality and a homely and peaceful escape from the city buzz. Relax and enjoy a traditional Mysorean meal in the evening.
 
Day 4: Mysore Sightseeing
Savour a delicious home-cooked Kodava and Mysorean breakfast and then head out to explore the city of Mysore. 
Begin your sightseeing tour by first visiting Chamundi Hill and Chamundeshwari Temple. Perched atop a hill, this iconic temple dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari offers a spiritual experience along with sweeping views of Mysore city. The giant Nandi statue en route is another highlight worth a stop.
Next, visit the Rail Museum, a treat for history and railway enthusiasts. The museum showcases vintage locomotives, royal carriages, and rare railway memorabilia. It’s a nostalgic journey into India’s railway heritage.
Next, head to Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery (Jaganmohan Palace). Housed in a former royal palace, the gallery displays an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, and artefacts. Works of renowned artists like Raja Ravi Varma add to its cultural richness.
Your next stop is St. Philomena’s Church, which is one of the tallest churches in Asia. This Neo-Gothic marvel is known for its soaring spires and stunning stained-glass windows. Its design is inspired by Germany’s Cologne Cathedral.
Spend the evening at the bustling Devaraja Market and soak in local life with its colourful stalls of flowers, fruits, spices, and silks. It’s a lively spot to experience Mysore’s vibrant culture. In the evening, head back to the homestay for a cozy night stay.
Day 5: Mysore to Bandipur
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast. 
In the morning, head out to explore the very famous architectural masterpiece, Mysore Palace. It reflects the opulence of the Wadiyar dynasty with its intricate carvings, grand halls, and stained-glass domes. A walk through its corridors brings alive the royal splendour and heritage of Mysore.
Next, visit the Lalitha Mahal Palace. Built in the 1920s, Lalitha Mahal is a stunning white palace influenced by European architecture. With its majestic facade and sprawling lawns, it showcases a blend of regal charm and colonial elegance.
After Mysore sightseeing, embark on a scenic 2 hours  drive to Bandipur, passing through lush landscapes and countryside views. The drive takes you through charming countryside roads lined with farms, small towns, and patches of forest. 
On reaching Bandipur, check in at The Mangifera, a boutique luxury resort, nestled on the periphery of the Bandipur National Park. It is a perfect nature escape surrounded by lush mango orchards and coconut farms, and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property features tastefully designed cottages blending rustic charm with modern comfort.

Day 6: Bandipur to Ooty

After breakfast,enjoy Jungle Safari through Bandipur National park & Tiger Reserve, The Bandipur Tiger Reserve, established in 1974, is located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. One of India's most successful conservation stories, it was originally a hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Mysore, after the Safari  embark on a scenic 2  hour drive to Ooty, winding through forested roads and picturesque hills. Ooty, once known as the “the queen of the hill stations” is one of 65 hill stations set up across India by the British. The town was established in the early 19th century as the summer headquarters of the Madras government and memorably nicked-named “Udagamandalam ”. It lies among sprawling forests, and at 7,000 ft above sea level, it’s refreshingly cool. Overnight stay at Ooty.

Day 7: Ooty Sightseeing
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, begin your day with a scenic drive to Doddabetta Peak, the highest summit in the Nilgiris at 2,637 meters. Visit the Telescope House for panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, forests, and the charming town of Ooty. It is an ideal spot for photography and nature enthusiasts. 
Next, head down to the Government Botanical Garden, a beautifully maintained 55-acre expanse established in 1848. Stroll through terraced lawns, admire the vibrant seasonal blooms, rare orchids, and don’t miss the highlight which is an ancient fossilized tree believed to be over 20 million years old.
After lunch, proceed towards the Toda tribal villages, located approximately 15 km from Ooty. Experience a glimpse into the unique lifestyle of the Toda community, known for their distinctive barrel-shaped huts, traditional attire, and centuries-old buffalo herding culture. Interact with the locals and learn about their customs, crafts, and heritage.
End the day with a visit to the Tribal Museum, which houses an interesting collection of artefacts, traditional tools, handicrafts, and replica Toda murals. The museum offers rich insights into the lives, art forms, and history of the indigenous tribes of the Nilgiris.
Return to the hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 8 : Ooty – Coimbatore
Check out at 12 00 noon from the hotel. After lunch from a local restaurant, you will be transferred to Ooty railway station to depart to Mettupalayam by train at 14 00 hours. You will arrive at Mettupalayam railway station 17 15 hours. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway, between Ooty and Mettupalayam is one of the oldest mountain railways in India built by Britishers in 1854. Nilgiri Mountain Railway is also a UNESCO world heritage site. It offers scenic views and overlooks enchanting hills. Watching the panoramic vistas, greenery and hills pass by and breathing in the cool breeze I like an unmatched experience. 
Upon arrival at Mettupalayam railway station, our driver will assist you to transfer to Coimbatore, which is 40 kms from Mettupalayam railway station. Check in at the hotel at Coimbatore at 18 15 hours. Coimbatore is the 3rd biggest city in South India, also known as the ‘Manchester of South India’.Overnight stay at the hotel.

Please note: Train Journey from Ooty to Mettupalayam is subject to weather conditions. If there are instances of landslides or heavy rains, there is a possibility of last minute cancellation. In case of cancellation of trains from Ooty to Mettupalayam, you will be travelling from Ooty to Coimbatore directly by car which takes around 3 hours.  
 

 

Day 9: Coimbatore to Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau near Kochi
Start your day with wholesome breakfast and get ready to check-out of your hotel in Coimbatore. Today you have to drive down to Kochi. It is a 4 hours journey that will bless you with eye-pleasing vistas.

Day 10: Cranganor History Cafe & Riverside Chateau
This day is for you to rejuvenate and experience calm with leisure activities at resort. 
You may start your day with a relaxing guided yoga and meditation session. After having delicious breakfast, you may head for a bike/bicycle trails across the river and the lush green paddy fields in the surrounding areas which is home to a variety of migratory birds. Alternatively, you can peacefully paddle down the meandering river and enjoy the stunning scenery. You may spend your afternoon on a heritage or history trail learning the history of Kochi. 
Spend your evening, by taking a fishing trip with a local guide and try your hand at catching some of the region's prized fish species. Experience the traditional Kerala culture through a mesmerizing cultural program that includes dance, music, and other performances.
Enjoy a scrumptious dinner at the resort before retiring for the night.
 
Day 11: Departure from Kochi Airport

After breakfast check out from the Hotel and drive to Kochin Airport (depend on your departure place) for your flight back home, feeling contented about a wonderful holiday you spent in the God's Own Country
